How to Draw a Rainbow Step By Step – For Kids & Beginners

Here we are with another lesson how to draw a rainbow for you. Drawing a rainbow is very simple and easy task. Have you ever looked at the rainbow, how it looks like, what shape it has. A rainbow is a half circle with many colors in it. Rainbows are formed due to weather reasons, when light of sun falls on the water droplet of rain rainbows appears at the opposite side of the sun. They are intangible thus it’s drawing should also looks like realistic as floating in the sky.

Rainbow colors are in specific order, for which you can remember VIBGYOR from down to going upside. If this order get disturbed while coloring it will be wrong in term originality.

How to Draw a Rainbow in Sky

Step 1:Draw a line on the below side of paper as horizon.

Step 2: Start top most layer of layer by drawing a curve from the left side of horizon to the right side of paper.

Step 3: Draw another two parallel curves to the already drawn curve.

Step 4: Below the curves drawn draw 2 more parallel and even curve.

Step 5: Fianlly draw 2 more parallel curves.

Step 6: In the background of rainbow draw busesh to give it natural look.

Step 7: In the area of horizon draw beautiful flowers.

Step 8: In the sky draw butterfly and clouds.

Step 9: Fill color to your rainbow and the colorful aura is ready to give you joy and happiness.

How to Draw a Cartoon Rainbow

Step 1: With the help of small curves draw overalpping clouds.

Step 2: On the other side again draw same style of curve and form cloud.

Step 3: From the one cloud to another draw a large curve as the top layer of rainbow.

Step 4: Under the line drawn in step 2 draw another parallel line, this will form the first and outermost band of rainbow.

Step 5: Draw second band of rainbow by adding another curved line under the already drawn one.

Step 6: For forming second band draw another parallel curve beneath the drawn one.

Step 7: Draw 5th and 6th curved line to create 2 more band.

Step 8: Draw 2 curves one on outer and one in inner side, now its enough of band to form rainbow.

Step 9: Draw many curved line big and small to provide depth to the drawing and texture of cloud.

Step 10: Color your rainbow according to VIBGYOR direction or refer the image below.
