In Japan, few parks have thousands of trees and celebrate it as a festival. At the beginning of spring cherry trees bloom in shades of white, pink, and red. We made this easy for you all to draw cherry blossom with our given tutorial. You only need to take a paper, pencil and follow the tutorial.

How to draw Cherry Blossoms

Step 1: Always begin drawing with a basic outline so that you can have an idea of what to have to draw. So, as you can see below a rough outline has been drawn.

Step 2: Following the outline draw 4 big rounded squares a few overlapping each other. Also, make some small rounds for buds and curved lines for the stem.

Step 3: In this step draw small ovals in the center of the flower and attach them with the stem using pair of curved lines.

Step 4: Its turn to shape petals, draw 5 petals in each flower around the center decided. To draw petals use a simple rounded oval shape with round or jagged ends. petals must be overlapping near the center.

Step 5: Begin drawing some leaves and sepals, draw long leaves using curved line meeting at the pointed end. Draw small curves inside and outside in the small circle drawn in step 2 for sepals.

Step 6: Add a few more details to the petals, use wavy lines on the top of the petals. This will give petals a pointed shape from the center.

Step 7: You have to add only a few details and it’s complete. Draw stamen in the center of the flower, draw small random dots, and join them with fine lines to the center.

Step 8: Once your drawing is ready shade overall drawing with a light hand, especially leaves and stems. Darken the outlines and stamens.

Step 9: Contouring gives a clear visual in drawing, erase all extra lines.

 

How to draw Cherry Blossoms for kids:

Step 1: To draw cherry blossom start with 5 petals flower as depicted below. This is the kind of basic flower we are since childhood.

Step 2: On the top of this flower draw another same flower whose one petal is overlapper and 4 petals are visible.

Step 3: In this step draw 3rd flower a little above the already drawn ones. Again use the wavy line and draw 5 petal flower. Patterns of petals can vary.

Step 4: We will add one more flower to the series which is top right of the rest flowers.

Step 5: Start drawing stems of the flower, draw curved lines in between flower connecting them, and moving down towards the paper end.

Step 6: Connect the topmost flower with the stem, as you can see this stem is extruded into 3 parts. Use parallel lines for the branch.

Step 7: In the center of the flower draw stamen using a small circle and connecting it to the center with lines. Also, draw a bud near the top flower and a falling petal.

 

Step 8: The drawing is ready, you can add a few small leaves to it and fill it with blush pink color.
