How to Draw a lotus Step By Step – For Kids & Beginners

Today we are learning how to draw a lotus, a beautiful aquatic flower for kids and beginners. It is a plant that gives us the lesson to survive in adverse conditions. The seeds of plants remain much longer than those of other plants.

In Hinduism, Lotus garland is used to worship Lord Vishnu, and Goddess Lakhmi sits on lotus with him. In many depictions lotus flowers growing from his belly button.

How to draw a Lotus:

Step 1: To draw a lotus you have to start with an oval. Below this oval draw, another horizontal oval overlapped from the center.

Step 2: On the side of the drawn shape draw a curved line going downward. Start drawing it from little above the joint of both ovals. Enclose the shape from other curved line from the bottom oval. Repeat the shape from other side also.

Step 3: Draw other 2 petals on the side of the first oval. Start drawing a curve from the side of oval enclosing with another oval at the top of thelower petal.

Step 4: Give the center oval a pointed and jagged end on top. In lower oval also draw 2 small ovals on top and a pointed shape will remain.

Step 5: Give side petals also a pointed and curved look as depicted below.

Step 6: Give the lower petal a curved shape and draw one more line inside it.

Step 7: Draw 3 more petals on the side in manner they are back of each one. Draw a line in the center of LOTUS petal.

Step 8: On the other side also draw same petals in mirror image pattern.

Step 9: Draw small petals in between the already drawn petals. Use curved line for this with a pointed end. Draw a curved wavy lines in the center.

Step 10: Draw long curved line from one side of the lotus to the other side.

Step 11: Color your flower using pink for petals, green for leaf and outline with black.

How to draw a lotus for kids:

Step 1: Draw an enclosed curved shape to start with the central part of the flower.

Step 2: Then draw a curve from the central part and coming down towards end of the midlle part with pointed tip.

Step 3: Draw the same shape on the other side of the central part also. Always draw little curved lines with jagged end.

Step 4: In the center of the petals draw partial petals, only half petal is visible.

Step 5: On the lower part of the flower draw 2 petals on both the sides. The direction of petals are downward. In the middle of the petals draw one more downward direction petal.
